Note	George Specht to Stephen circa 1962: Mr. Ames was born in New York, lived in Ohio, USA. In ~1889 when daughter Orra was 9 months of age he and his family moved to California by train then later to Eugene, Oregon where he thought it would be better for farming. It was a life of hard work for the children. Josephine with John, Orra, and Charles left to return to ConradIowa, USA to be near her brother and family. Walter stayed in Oregon.
Note	2008 Washington - Gothic Vernacular House - Built circa 1890, there is very little known about the early history of this structure. The first resident was either Wesley Ames, a farmer, or George Fleeman, a carpenter. Charles Thorpe, a ship carpenter, and his wife Dora moved to the house in the 1910's. Later occupants include postal carrier Francis Taylor and his wife Gertrude.
