Note | Strombotne Lois Anne Strombotne died November 4, 2014 at the age of 89. Born May 27, 1925 in Covina, CA to Walter and Ethel Schultz, Lois grew up in Puente, CA with her brother and two sisters. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in art and design. Berkeley was also where she met her husband Norman Strombotne where they were both members of the ski club. Together they had two children, Norma and Christopher. In 1967, Lois moved with her family from California to New Jersey, and after the passing of her husband in 1975, she moved to Columbus to live near her children. Over the years Lois worked as nursery school teacher, department store clerk, sorority house mother, and credit librarian at BankOne. Lois was also very active volunteer in the community, especially in events for the arts. Lois was an enthusiastic participant in the Worthington Chorus and an active volunteer for First Community Church. Lois loved getting out and supporting local arts and sporting actives with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She taught them all to appreciate the importance of experiencing and enjoying everything around them. Lois is survived by her two children, Norma (Nabih) Tarazi and Christopher (Tracy) Strombotne; four grandchildren, Omar (Heather) Tarazi, Khaled (Emily) Tarazi, Anne (Derek) Warnick, and Julia Strombotne; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. |
