On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 3:13:35 PM PDT, Estee Strom wrote: Father Strom called Elsa his song bird. I understand from Rik, he was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy (translation: cheerfully unconcerned about the future). Rik said he played Ragtime on the piano and liked to tease and wrestle with his sons. Mother Strom's income from singing lessons and as church soloist was the family's source of survival during the Great Depression. Railroad jobs were virtually non-existent. Father Strom always had dinner ready when Mother Strom came home from church. I wish I might have known him. Love, |
