Note
|
June and I were very good friends. We often stayed together for a week at my paternal Grandmother's farm near Marshalltown. We were enchanted with the lifestyle - chickens and ducks, milk cows and horses, hogs and corn cripes, hay barns with lofts, cornfields, pastures, and strawberry beds and a windmill with steps we could climb and we could walk to my Uncle Joe's and Aunt Carrie's neighboring farms. My recollection is that June married a wealthy member of the GoodYear or Firestone Tire Company family and lived [later] in South Carolina. - Esther Strombotne |
